| 1. | The leaves must be green and fresh, not dry and white. |
| 2. | There should be 3 leaves emerging from the same level of the stem; this is referred to as “Meshulash” (three-leaved). |
| 3. | The length of the Myrtle should span a minimum of 9.5 - 12 inches, of which an area of between 5-6 inches (not necessarily in a row) must be triple-leaved. |
| 4. | If the top of the branch is cut off, one should refrain from using that leaf on Succot. |
| 5. | One should have 3 Hadassim in one’s Lulav (they are usually sold in a set). |
